I had the same issue. I pulled the emergency release cable when I was initially setting up my opener and now it won't re-engage. I feel like if I pull on the cord again (which I've read to do) that it will break something on the inside. Liftmaster just wants me to have the whole unit replaced. I feel like if I can get the teeth to re-engage with the sprocket that has the chain around it then it'll work fine.
