Compressor Wont Turn On.. Brand New!

I bought the LW5012 from someone who had never opened the box but had purchased 3 years ago. I plugged it 2 nights ago and everything worked fine. Tonight the compressor will not come one. Any thoughts? It has to be the compressor or the capacitor right? If so is this an easy self install? Thanks
