Unable To Read Any Discs

Hi, I have hardly used this, about 5 times only to burn DVD's. Now the drive shows on My Computer but when I insert any disc for playback or burning it just does not read the disc and crashes the PC unless I eject it. I have tried every disc format, re-installed drivers, used a DVD cleaning kit and tried it in different OC's and laptops.

Hi,
My name is Latha and I work for the Social Media and

Community Team at Dell.

As you mentioned the drivers are reinstalled please check if there are no bang on driver in device manager.
Check if there are any firmware update for the drive from drive vendor website.
Check if you are able to boot from any bootable disc to confirm if the drive is working fine or not. If it is able to boot from a bootable disc that shows the drive is working fine, try a different user account and check.
