Dryer Runs For 10 To 30 Seconds Then Cuts Out.

our LG Dryer Model #DLE2240W Keeps shutting off and will not complete cycle. Dryer is 3 or 4 years oldSame thing happens when its on timed cycle.used to run with nothing in it but now shuts off with in 10 sec (with nothing in dryer)There is also a funny smell (like something burning but no smoke) I think Dryer may have an electrical short of some kind (burning smell) and shuts itself down.I have called LG support they recommended a repairmanAny suggestions
