no, actually there is no software needed for the scanning functions of this model. if your operating system are windows xp and vista you can use wia twain scanner and this driver doesn't support windows 7, take note wia twain driver is for usb connection only, but, if the machine is connected on the lan networks you can use scan to smb functions of the machine and all the settings will be done thru ip address browsing. all you need to do is browse the command center of the machine thru it's ip address and log-in with the password admin00, go to basic tab>address book> add contacts> and fill up the neccesary in formation required.
