Squeaking Noise

Generally when a copier squeaks, it's because dust (often paper dust) or dirt has gotten into some of the moving parts. Try to narrow the squeaking down to a particular area or section, and see if you can figure out which parts are moving when the squeaking occurs.

If you can narrow it down to a certain area of the copier, clean any dirt off of the feed and/or transport rollers in that area, and also clean the bushings, bearings, and shafts. A wet, lint-free rag is good for cleaning rollers, and a small amount of oil on a rag can work wonders on squeaky bushings or shafts. If you can't reach a specific area, try shooting it with some canned air. For most squeaks, that should take care of it.
