Kitchen Aid Khms2056 High Level Thermostat

I just installed the 3rd high level thermostat in my 3 year old unit. My question is will the fuse or the other thermostat shut down the unit if I bypass this thermostat . It shut down most recently in the first 10 seconds of baking a potato , so I there was not a high level of heat in the unit and all burners on stove top were not in use.
