Model Khm3wh 3 Speed Ultra Power Mixer

I recently recieved a KitchenAide Mixer model KHM3WH and I have no idea how to make the mixer prongs stay in the mixer, they keep coming out. Most mixers you just insert them and they stay, these do not stay and will come out when turned on. Is there a owners manual that tells how to keep them in?
