Dispenser Light, Model Kfis27cxms

The LED water / ice dispenser light has gone out on my KitchenAid refrigerator, model # KFIS27CXMS. This unit is only 15 months old. Questions: 1). LED lights are known for long life. This LED went out in only 15 months. The light was only on when it was dispensing water or ice. Why the short life span? 2). Can this LED be replaced? If not, I think this is poor engineering. What about the interior lights, these are also LEDs. Can these LEDs be replaced? In my childhood days growing up, my parents consistently bought KitchenAid. KitchenAid was the top of the line in terms of reliability and value. I hope this has not changed over the years.
