What Is Significance Of This Metal Ring; Can Disposer Still Be Used Safely?
A round metal ring placed immediately below the bottom of the opening of my disposer became corroded and a piece broke off. It might be a flange. The parts diagram shows two flanges at that approximate location. The disposer still works, but I am concerned that if I use it that leakage will develop. Does anyone know the significance of this part?
