When your screen displays the word "Protect", that means either a speaker wire has short-circuited or that a speaker wire is touching the chassis of the vehicle. Both cases activate the "Protection" function of the stereo.
Two things you can do from here:
1) Try to find the offending wire and insulate it properly;
If that doesn't make the message disappear, you'll need to:
