Cranks But Doesn't Start

My 2003 Hyundai Accent GL has started to intermittently fail to start. It cranks over same as usual, but fails to fire. After towing to shop, fired up fine. New plugs and battery later, still refuses to start at random moments. When in this state, all other electrical devices work fine. Died at traffic light twice now - no sputtering or stalling, just quits and won't restart. I've tried wiggling whatever few wires there are that can be wiggled, but all seem tight, and then, occasionally, it starts right up like nothing was ever wrong. Ideas on how I can isolate and replace the problem? My guess is that it's in the ignition system - wiring, coil, controller - but how to troubleshoot?
