Engine Dies While Mowing, But Only In Reverse.
It just started this year. While the blades are engaged and the engine throttle is fast, the engine will begin to die if I back up. As soon as I let off of reverse, it continues to run normal. mowing in forward it also runs normal. And if I stop mowing (disengage blades) it will back up without any engine trouble. I know I could backup and mow last year when I bought it. It's a 2011 and was completing serviced before I bought it.

First to isolate the problem (physical or electrical) you will remember the PTO clutch wire. With the engine off and the unit cool simply disconnect the electric PTO clutch. Get in the seat start and run the machine, operate the PTO switch as if you were turning the PTO on if the unit falters the failure is electrical and we suggest that you take it to a local authorized service center. If however the engine continues to operate the the failure is physical. Turn the engine off and allow to cool, refer to the operators manual for instructions on removing of the mower deck. You will need to inspect if something is stuck/wedged in a blade or potentially a derailed belt or bearing failure. The type of failure may require a local service dealer to perform the repairs needed.
