Refresh Fan

My question is: Is the refresh fan REQUIRED TO run when the heat and AC are shut off? I have the manual for the hunter thermostat 44860 and it does not tell you in the manual that it is required to run nor does it tell you how to shut the refresh fan off. If you have ceiling fans circulating the air why is it necessary for the refresh fan? We would like to be able to turn the refresh fan off to save on the electric bill. How do you shut the refresh fan off?

  3. Touch SYSTEM. The selected word flashes
  4. Touch "ENTER"
  5. Scroll through the first setting with the + or - button and select option 3.

  7. When all settings are complete touch to exit.

Refresh Fan: If the fan switch on the bottom of the thermostat is set to Refresh then for every hour that your system does not run, your system's fan will come on and run for 15 minutes to circulate the air in the house, then shut down.

Hope that is helpful.
