The RECV indicates that the unit is running in Auto Recovery mode. What this means is that it is "transitioning" from an energy-saving setpoint to a comfort setpoint. For example, if you program the system to be at 65 starting at 11 p.m. and to be at 72 starting at 7 a.m., and the temperature drops to 65 overnight, the system will enter Auto Recovery (RECV) prior to 7 to get the temperature to 72 by 7 a.m.
