Satellite Internet is not designed for VOIP and voice quality will be horrible. All satellite Internet providers state up from that they do not support VOIP. The latency on the satellite causes all sorts of issues.
If you decide to go ahead and use these services Hughes will not support you and could in theory cancel your service.

One very bothersome problem with Vonage is that its touted "unlimited" service my not turn out to be such. PC World in its July 2011 issue relates how Vonage might switch you to a pricier "business" plan if you use the service too much. And the written terms don't spell out the maximum usage—they just require that the service be used in a "normal" way.
If your concern is international calls, Vonage may be cheaper, as shown in this (somewhat outdated) chart from Deal News.
Otherwise, magicJack is hard to beat for price. Turn here for an impartial and thorough review of this service.Hope this is useful.
