Sent Email To Wrong Address

hello. our office sent an email to the wrong hotmail address with sensitive information attached. the original email did not bounce back. the intended recipient is concerned that the actual recipient now has his sensitive information. how can I verify that the address we mailed to is an active account and that someone actually opened the message that was not intended for them? is there any recourse? thank you. laurie

Sorry but once an email is sent, there's nothing you can do. There is no way to know if the recipient read the email or not. Chances are that they'll just delete it since they won't know who it's from.
