Re-opening A Hotmail Account

This must be frustrating for you by now. I'm sorry. However, thank you for providing the last time you were able to log in. This helps a bit more.

I have went through most of the Microsoft support pages and it appears you are not alone with this problem. Several questions were asked regarding the same message your get when they try to log into their Hotmail account. Here, is an example:

i am going to provide you the phone number to Microsoft for assistance with your issue. However, I would like you to first do a couple of things.

• Try logging in to your account using the Outlook domain name instead of the Hotmail one. ie: [email protected] then your password, if this doesn't work. Then use the forgot password link and use the outlook.com name to see if you get past that page to reset your password. If not, then please continue.
• Go to the following link: https://status.live.com/ for an Outlook status report, this will show any incidences the service may be currently having. Also click on the history link (in blue) which may show your log in attempts. (Or it might not show it) review this history for any problems listed, especially from the date (yesterday) you were unable to log in. If there does appear to be an issue, then note this to provide to Customer Support Representative when you call.

Whew! Well, this is all I can think of for you to do. Unfortunately, and I am not happy to say this, you may have to open another Outlook account if there is no further way to get this resolved.
