My Needs To Be Deleted. The Account Was Hacked.

I opened a new hotmail account and I have been following the directions as to how to delete the but no success. I need to have this account closed

Hello rherlihy19 To close your account

Go to the https://login.live.com/ppsecure/secure.srf?lc=1033&sf=1&id=38936&ru=https://account.live.com/summarypage.aspx&tw=0&fs=0&kv=0&cb=&cbcxt=&wp=SAPI&wa=wsignin1.0&wreply=https://account.live.com/summarypage.aspx webpage, and then sign in with your Microsoft account.
Click Close account.
Verify that the correct Microsoft account appears, type your password, and then click Next.
Click deactivate your Hotmail account.
Click Close account.

To close only your Outlook.com or Hotmail account

Your Outlook.com or Hotmail account will become inactive if you don't sign in for more than 270 days or within the first 10 days after signing up for your account. After an account becomes inactive, all messages, folders, and contacts are deleted, and incoming messages are sent back to the sender as undeliverable. If you want to close your account right away.

Notes

If you have a Hotmail Plus, Xbox Live, or other subscription, cancel that subscription before you close your Microsoftaccount.
