Honeywell Error Code 38 Fix???

First I had a "no Signal" display on my thermstat, so I reset it and am trying to "re-set" it to the reciver. I am following the directions and pressed the connect button on the reciver, stood 2+ feet away, and press next, next, connect on my thermostat, and I get the error code 38. I have no idea why, I have tried it over and over again and still nothing. The reicver light is flashing green while I do it.
