Honeywell Rth3100c Function 6 Setting

A little booklet that came with the thermostat shows function 6 being set to 5 which says for gas or oilfurnaces. My furnace is an electric-heat pump system. Position 9 says for electric furnaces.I have another manual that I downloaded that says to set function 6 to 3 for heat pump.Who do I believe? It is working on position 5 at the moment.
