Cub Cadet Lawn Mower

I purchased a cub cadet mower in July 2011 from Home Depot. We mowed the lawn twice and the engine blew. We took it back to Home Depot. They have had it back in the store for about a month. The asst store manager called tonight to I form us that it wasn't covered under warranty. We did not buy this mower used and as is we bought it new with a warranty for this store manager to tell us he was sorry and his hands was tied...there's nothing more he could do . Can you help us please? We would like our mower fixed or our money back.
