No, this device provides protection against electric shock due to ground fault currents, by automatically shutting off the power. To test the operation of the ALCI Safety Device, switch the heater ON.Press the TEST button on the ALCI device attached to the plug end of the line cord. The heater and fan should stop operating and the Power light should be extinguished.Press the RESET butto ont he ALCI device to resume normal operation of the heater.
