Can Humidifier Be Repaired?

Our Homedics UHE-WM85 humidifier was purchased last February. It was used throughout the winter, and then stored. WE recently brought it out again. It worked for a week, but now will not function. When plugged into a valid outlet, it produces no light: will not turn on at all.When I plugged it in, there was a "pop" noise, such as a fuse blowing. Can this be repaired?
