Caps Don't Always Separate After Nailing Operation

We just purchased an NV50AP3 Hitachi cap nail gun. The gun received excellent reviews. About every 4th or 5th shot the fired cap nail does not break off from the string of caps. As the gun is moved , a whole string of unused caps are pulled out of the gun. It has become so troublesome, that the guys have gone back to the Armstrong method.(Hammer and strong arm)
