Wave Running Down Screen

We have a Hitachi cpx305 hooked up to a Smartboard in one of our classrooms. It seems to have a wave that runs down the screen constantly. It will shift the image to the left, and then on the next pass will shift it to the right.

First of all rule out problems with the VGA cable. Swap it out for one which you know to be working well.  I have seen distortions on a set up with a damaged cable, so rule that out first.

Then of course check that the projector is running at its native resolution and try and factory reset. If the problem persists, then you most likely have a hardware fault with the projector
