My Hitachi Bx35a Will Not Access The Dvd To Record?

It will not access the dvd and just says it is dirty or a bad disc. But i have changed the disc and put a brand new one in and it still says the same thing. Do i just need to trash this thing or can it be fixed?

Have you tried resetting the camera? You can do this by turning the camera off, removing the battery and pressing the reset button and holding it down for like a minute. Resetting the camera helped me out and hopefully it fixes your problem too.
