Non-functional Remote Unit Of New Hp Df820a2 Digital Picture Frame.

I am looking for a remote for my HP df820a2 Digital Picture which was bought online recently from Home Shop 18 in India. The items was shipped directly to me from the US. On opening the the sealed box I found the warranty card and the 4 colour mattes missing. The remote unit did not function even after a change of battery. The instruction manual was a single sheet of folded paper which had several crucial sections missing. On requesting the vendor to replace the defective remote unit I was told 2 weeks later that the same could not be sourced since it was not sold as a separate item. Instead I was offered a 10% refund on the paid amount as a gesture of good faith for the inconveneience caused. This tantamounts to a deficiency in service by the online vendor since no quality checks were performed either at their end or at the production centre before shipping the same to the customer. The lack of a warranty card and the colour mattes also suggests that customers outside the US can be treated shabbily.  This preception has to change since the world is becoming smaller thanks to the internet and its reach.
