Windows 7 Upgrade On A Hpdv2500

Will this make my system slower if i up graded it what problems will i have

Unlikely if you have a lot of RAM.  I have had very good luck with Windows 7 to date.  Being a Linux nerd it's hard for me to say that this is in all honesty the first version of Windows that I would consider paying money for.

Windows in general, works best with lots of RAM.  This laptop can have up to 2 GB installed.  I would upgrade to that if it's not already at that level.

Beyond that the only issue I can see if the learning curve for getting adjusted to the new interface.  The laptop should run just fine.
