Lock Out
can i lock out other people from useing my 8600 pluse printer with a password or code of some kind

No. This is not possible because printer has not password that can be setup. However, you can disable the print spooling service from your computer to prevent other people from using your printer. Here's how:
1. Click Start/Windows logo
2. Click Run
3. Enter "services.msc"
4. Locate the Print Spooler
5. Right click and click Stop
6. Other user cannot use this printer if the print spooler service has stopped
