Tightly Wound Hose

My ultra seems to keep nturning one way untill the vac hose is in tight loops and the cleaner sits in one spot marking time

I have this vacuum and it did this twice when a flap on one side had come unhooked from its hook. When I rehooked it, straightened out the hose and restarted it, it worked fine.
