Probe Whole.
Ny Hamilton Beach crock pot 33964T came with a hole in lid with white plastic surrounding it. I believe it is for thermometer; but there is no mention of it in manual? Can it remain open while cooking. Won't heat go out and effect the cooking and timing? Do I have to use my own meat thermometer and leave it in he entire cooking time? It did not come with thermometer or probe. I have been hesitant to use the crock pot; because of this issue. Please advise.
