My Haier 5200 Btu Ac Makes Grinding Noise When Started Up
I just purchased a Haier 5200 BTU ac. and when its on, I can hear the fan. sounds like its rubbing on something. and when its on high it isnt as loud of a rubbing sound. Is this normal. i took the front cover off and started it up, seems like the fan is wobbling. thanks

It's because it is a piece of junk. You need to take the front cover off by removing the two screws on either side of the unit. CAREFULLY reach in and adjust the black housing around the fan until (when you spin it by hand) it doesnt rub anything. They assembled them terribly. You will also notice that there is no drain plug. If you do not have it tilted down on the outside at a good angle, it will flood in the unit. It drains through the vent slits on the outside. You will still hear water splashing a bit when it has been running for a while. But as long as you have it tilted so that the over fill can drip out, it should be ok. Hey, you buy cheap, you get cheap!
