How do you read a Haier serial number?

On some Haier appliances the serial number is only 9 numbers long. Any character I or O is always a number, so I is a 1 (one) and the O is always a 0 (zero). Where can I find the serial number ? The serial number is usually located on the label and the bar code

Where is the manufacture date on a serial number?

The 1st three numbers of your serial number will always provide your manufacture date. The 1st number is the YEAR of manufacture; the 2nd & 3rd numbers indicate the MONTH of manufacture.
