How To Reset Outer And Inner Oven Door Panels On Ge Ps900s Slide-in Range

Our door had grease running down inside the glass on the outer range door and on the glass insert between the inner and outer glass panels.  The only way to get the grease out was to take apart the two panels and clean the glass inside. I took off the door, unscrewed the outer panel from the inner door panel, and cleaned the glass. Putting the range door back together, I noticed that the bottom of the outer stainless door now is loose, so that when you open the door, the bottom of the panel falls away. It appears the only thing holding the outer stainless door to the rest of it is someblack stickum tape running along a thin black metal strip that extends from side to side on the bottom of the door  On our range, that tape has no stickum.   There are no screws or other flanges that would appear to hold the door on. Can anyone tell me if 1) the tape is only thing holding the bottom to the door main frame. If so, what tape should I buy to replace it with?   and 2) If not the tape on that long black metal strip, what else is supposed to hold the bottom of the outside stainless door panel to the rest of the door metal.   Thanks so much if you can help.   Steve
