Dishwasher High Pitched

We have had tech out 3 times and now he says he called engineering and that is high pitched whining noise is NORMAL. I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS IS TRUE. Have any of you experienced is issue? This dishwasher was spoiled to us saying that it is the quietest model.
