Black 36' Cooktop

Dear GE,   I have a GE Black Cooktop that I love but I accidentally allowed a piece of foil to get too close to the burner while it was on.  The foil melted onto my cooktop and now it looks awful.   Is there anything that I can clean it with or any acid I can put on it to take this melted foil off?   Thank you for any information you can provide.
