Dryer Lint Filter Not Catching Lint
Hello,A property that we manage has a GE GTDP180ED5WW dryer and the lint filter does not fit in it correctly, which is causing lint to build up in the dryer vent very quickly, as it is not catching the lint in the filter. We purchased a replacement filter, but it fits the exact same way as the original and we are concerned about the fire hazard of having lint build up like that in the dryer vent. Can you provide some guidance on this? Thank you!

Why is my dryer lint trap not collecting lint?
Little or no lint collecting on the lint screen or lint trap is a warning sign of a bigger issue. ... Further, a lack of lint on the lint trap or screen is a sign of an obstructed dryer vent. If lint builds up in the dryer vent or dryer cavity, back pressure can cause the heating element to overheat.
