The Lock Position Will Not Turn Off On A Ge Gfwn1100ww Washer

I have unplugged the machine and pushed the signal button for well over the recommended 3 seconds . I have also pushed the pause button. How can I unlock the machine. There have been no problems operating the machine and this malfunction occurred after loading and pushing the start button. I have also unloaded the machine and tried to cure the problem.
