Air In Tank?

Our water pump runs all the time and the manual says if it sputters water then check the hot water tank for air. Our hot water tank makes gurggle noises when water switch is on and only water coming from faucet it hot when faucet is on cold. How do we get rid of the air? We had a big freeze a couple weeks ago and it has been this way since. We live in this trailer while we build. Our water source is a 100 gal. tank outside.
