Zinc/aluminum Anode Rod - Follow-up With Odin
Thank you for the quick response Odin. It sounds like a zinc/aluminum anode rod may not be best for my situation. It is a vacation house using well water, and we have a water softener. From what I saw on your link, both the vacation house (infrequent use) and the softener suggest I just add an inlet valve off of a Tee, and pour in a couple pints of hydrogen peroxide when we first arrive. Does this sound right to you, or should we first try the anode rod? Thanks for your help!

Yes, it sounds right, if doing that is not a problem for you, especially if you suspect some or all of the odor is due to stagnation.
