How Can I Fix My Gateway Nv53a Laptop?

I do not have the money to get geek squad or any of those other computer fixers. What is going on: I love my laptop and am lost without it. I am pretty sure that a virus has gotten in, even though i had a good security, and i have done all things to get rid of it. Reset and completely cleared all memory..tried everything. It will start to turn on and a little alert pop up will come up and say this exactly: " The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered and unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proveed. To install Windows, click "OK" to restart the computer, and then restart the insallation." I have clicked ok, it then says setup is starting services and tries to start. The windows colors and logo pops up...but it just stays there and says all that again. Can someone please please help me, I will be so gratefull and it would be awesome knowing there are people out there willing to help!Any tips..or helpful hints are appreciated. Thanks! Also, if there is a CD or anything i need to get. Please tell me exactly how and where to, and what to do to use it! thanks!

When your system post depess the f11 key repeatedly. If you have a recovery partition it will boot to it.

Q: How do I reinstall the Operating System on the computer?

A: Select models have the ability to have the operating system reinstalled from a hidden drive built into the computer. To start the system recovery:

Restart the computer.
When the Gateway logo appears on the screen, press the Alt and F10 keys repeatedly.
When prompted with a boot screen, hit the Enter key.
After the system recovery program has loaded, follow the prompts to reinstall the operating system.

If the ability to reinstall from the previous method is not available or fails during the recovery, recovery of the operating system will need to be from Recovery Media.

Insert the disk labeled System CD into the computer's disk drive and restart the computer.
When the Gateway logo appears on the screen, press the F12 key repeatedly.
Select either CDROM or DVD as the boot device, this may vary depending on the system.
When prompted for the Recovery CD, remove the System CD and insert the Recovery CD.

Note:If there are multiple Recovery CDs, please insert the first Recovery CD.

After the system recovery program has loaded follow the prompts to reinstall the operating system.

Note: If you do not have a set of Gateway Recovery Media you may purchase recovery media online.

I can't promise that this will help in anybody in the situation that you described, but if you didn't try starting in Safe mode yet, try that. Turn off your laptop, turn it back on, & before you see anything on the screen, press F8 repeatedly (sometimes it's F10 or F12) until a screen appears that you the choices of starting in normal mode or in serveral versions of safe mode. Try each version of safe mode, hope that at least one of them works, & if it does, use that to help you debug the rest of your problem.
