How Do I Copy My Favorites From My Old Garmin To My New Garmin 40lm?
Some of my favorites were entered from location, and I have to find my way back to that location to set the favorite. That will be a lot of driving and very expensive. I'm ready to take the new one back if I can't do this!

In order to back up your Favorites:
1.Using a USB data cable, plug the device into a computer
2.Double-click the My Computer icon (Mac users can skip this step)
3.Double-click the nuvi drive (Mac users can find this on their desktop)
4.Double-click the Garmin folder1
5.Double-click the GPX folder
6.Copy the current.gpx file
7.Paste this file to another location on your computer
8.Rename the file current1.gpx
Once you save a copy of the GPX file on your computer, you have successfully backed up the waypoints within your device."
Just swap it out with the other Garmin's .gpx file and you have all the OLD favorites on your NEW Garmin
