Fan Removal To Replace Water Pump?

I've removed four screws from cover ( ? ) over shaft between fan and pump but can't get the fan off. How would you sugest I go about it? I can't get at any screws or anything that may be holding the fan on the pump itself. Help...I'm stumped.
