Air Conditioning Not Blowing Out Vents Properly...

The A/C is not blowing out the cold air from the front vents...only the defrost vents and the rear vents.  Was told I need a new "switch" but can't find any information.  Thanks for any direction to "do it yourself" sites!  DeDe
