What Is The Cross Hatched Area On A 2004 Gmc Yukon Oil Dip Stick

The cross hatch area is the area marked with xxxxxx on the dip stick. If the oil is below the cross-hatched
area at the tip of the dipstick, add at least one quart/liter of the recommended oil.
