1994 Gmc 2500

I have a 1994 Gmc Seirra 2500 in which I am taking out the gasolene V6 engine and installing the V8 diesel engine.The gasolene engine came with a transfer case for the 4WD and we really would like to retain the 4WD drive feature with the diesel engine.So we are thinking of installing the V6 trans onto the diesel engine.It looks like it can be bolted up directly onto the bell housing but the the difference we are seeing is the connections on the transmission,one for the throttle valve and the electrical connection for the solenoid valves.The diesel engine does not have any connection for a trottle valve which looks like it is not applicable on the diesel engine but the connection for the solenoid valves is different.I will install the diesel engines harness with the deisel engine.Can I not just cut off the connection on the diesel engine harness and install the connection for the 4WD transmission(gasolene engine) and it will work the same way?.By the way ,the difference on the connection for the solenoid valves,is the diesel engines transmission(2wd) have more prongs than the 4wd transmission.
