Key Removal
I have a 2000 Jimmy & sometimes when I stop and put the car in park the ignition will not turn off all the way. The battery light stays on and the key can't be removed from the ignition. The motor is off and so are all other indicator lights. What might be causing this?

It's the floor shift. I have the same problem. With my foot on the brake, I have to push the thumb button a couple of times and move the gear shift a little until I hear the click of the relay that's by the brake. When I hear that click, I know I can turn the key all the way and remove it. With out hearing the click when I put the gear shift in park, I know the key can't be removed until I fiddle with the gear shift.
