Hello, I have a 1999 GMC Yukon 4wdrive that is loosing about a gallon of water a day in a slow leak. How can I determine if it is the radiator or a hose?

The only way is to get under the hood and/or under the truck and see where it is leaking while its running and warmed up so its circulating the coolant. The water pump is another possible source you should consider. A gallon a day is not a slow leak. You should see something getting wet. Look for signs of evaporated coolant around the thermostat housing, bottom of the water pump ,on both ends of both radiater hoses and check the heater hoses.

Also and I hate to mention it on the off chance that I'm somehow willing it into being true or something but while its running and has had time to get good and warmed up look at the tailpipe. If you see a trickle coming out or if the soot looks like water has run thru it and left a trail, thats an indication that the head gasket is blown or the head is cracked or both.

If you agree that the answer I provided is correct please remember to "accept" and/or mark it as "helpful" so I know I'm doing a good job. Thank you, I would really appreciate it.
