Windshield Wipers

I recently bought a 1998 Jimmy 2 WD for my. granddaughters first car and she is having problems with the windshield wipers working properly.  I had the same problem with my 1998.  Is there a problem with the motors for that year and how do we replace it without a huge cost? Thanks in advance for your response.   Marcia Fisher

Could you be more specific with what is not working properly? Is it not turning off when it comes on, or not turning on when the dial is turned? You could be looking at just replacing the turning dial switch which is not really hard at all. Easy test would be to apply power directly to the motor and see if it functions properly.
